What is the difference between veneers and composite fillings?
Composite restorations are built up directly in the chair with resin; veneers, usually ceramic, are made in a laboratory and bonded afterwards. The choice depends on the case, on how long the result needs to last, and on how much tooth has to be prepared.
Do veneers require the tooth to be reduced?
It depends on the technique and the starting point. In some cases the reduction is minimal; in others the tooth has to be prepared. We always explain this beforehand.
