Frequently asked questions
When should I have a dental check-up?
Whenever you have pain, sensitivity, bleeding gums or any change that worries you — and, with no symptoms at all, at least once a year so that anything developing is picked up early.
How often should I have a hygiene appointment?
For most people, about twice a year. Anyone at higher risk of gum disease may benefit from shorter intervals, agreed at the appointment.
How long does a dental implant last?
It depends on the health of the gums and bone, on daily cleaning, on habits such as smoking, and on keeping up maintenance appointments. With regular follow-up, an implant can stay functional for many years.
Can I have braces after 50?
Yes, provided the gums and supporting bone are healthy. We always carry out a gum assessment before starting treatment.
When is full mouth rehabilitation the right approach?
When several problems occur together — missing teeth, wear, old restorations or a changed bite — and it makes sense to treat them as a whole.
What is the difference between veneers and composite fillings?
Composite restorations are built up directly in the chair with resin; veneers, usually ceramic, are made in a laboratory and bonded afterwards. The choice depends on the case and on how much tooth has to be prepared.
How do I look after dental implants?
With careful brushing, daily cleaning between the teeth, and regular maintenance appointments. Implants cannot decay, but the tissues around them can become inflamed.
